ASTRIVA CRISIS RESPONSE PROTOCOL
Last Updated: 2026-10-21
This page describes the crisis response protocol that applies to conversations with AI Seers on Astriva. We publish it here so that it is available to all users and to the public.
1. PURPOSE AND SCOPE
Astriva's AI Seer features are clearly labeled AI chat experiences provided for entertainment and personal insight. They are not a mental health service, a medical service, or an emergency service, and they are restricted to users who are at least 18 years old. AI Seers may not be suitable for some minors.
Because users may nonetheless bring personal and emotional topics into these conversations, AI Seer sessions include the automated safety mechanism described below.
2. DETECTION AND REFERRAL
AI Seer conversations are monitored by an automated mechanism that is designed to detect certain expressions of suicidal ideation, suicide, or self-harm.
When such an expression is detected, the conversation interface displays a notice referring the user to crisis service providers, such as a regional crisis hotline or text line appropriate to the user's region.
This mechanism is automated. It does not involve real-time human monitoring, and it may not detect every situation. It does not diagnose, treat, or assess any condition, and it is not a substitute for professional help.
3. CRISIS RESOURCES
If you or someone you know is in crisis, contact your local emergency services, or reach out to a crisis service in your region, including:
- United States and Canada: call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline)
- United Kingdom and Ireland: Samaritans, call 116 123
- Australia: Lifeline, call 13 11 14
- Other regions: contact your local emergency number (such as 112 or 911) or a local crisis service provider
4. LIMITATIONS AND CONTACT
The Service is not an emergency service and is not monitored for crisis situations in real time by humans. Nothing on this page creates a duty to detect or respond to any particular situation.
